The APEX series was the result!
With toughened glass sides in addition to the glass sash, APEX units provide a light and airy working space. And because the glass is thinner than the traditional twin skin of a fume cupboard, you gain extra space within the chamber too. For example, the 1800mm wide APEX-2 has a wider internal chamber than a conventional 2000mm wide fume cupboard. It also has a generous working height and depth.
Lab safety is our utmost consideration. The curved radius profile entrance to the fume cupboard chamber gives excellent levels of containment. The unit can be operated at low volume flow rates down to 0.3m/s and the range has been tested to BS EN14175 with excellent results. The key Robustness of Containment Protection Factor (PFR) reading is 1,500,000 for an 1800mm wide version at 0.3m/s face velocity.
The energy-efficient Variable Air Volume (VAV) APEX has a fixed glass panel above the sliding sash, providing full-height viewing access to the internal chamber. Autosash controls are also available. In combination, these can maximise energy efficiency, thereby reducing costs and carbon emissions.
The APEX-2 and -4 are designed to be easily relocatable, future-proofing your laboratory. Instead of traditional assembly, the fume cupboards are manufactured and arrive in two parts. This allows quick and easy installation and simple relocation.
