Recent studies show that Europe is facing a new crisis due to a substantial decline in the availability of generic medicines.
The company Teva Pharmaceuticals has claimed through its research that the number of generic medicines withdrawn from the market has increased to 12%, while the amount of new generic products launched has decreased by an average of 3%.
These new findings bring warnings of a rise in health challenges in Europe, specifically on top of antimicrobial resistance. With a 21% decrease in children’s antibiotics specifically, it may soon become harder to obtain generic medication.
