32 million people across North America watched a total solar eclipse yesterday. They witnessed the moon crossing over the sun, causing entire cities to go dark and a drop in temperature. However, some were not as fortunate, as clouds and rain obstructed the view for those in the South and Midwest.
Some viewers of yesterday’s extremely rare sighting described it as remarkable and surprisingly emotional, especially considering that this event will not occur again in America until 2044.
Pam Melroy, the deputy of NASA, stated, “There’s something very mysterious about a total solar eclipse when day literally turns to night, animals start behaving differently, and we observe changes in the Earth’s atmosphere.”
